Need Crisp Shadows

Hello, fairly new to KS and I am using the basic version so I do not have all the bells and whisles like HMI editor etc…
I need to generate a render that is super vivid in colors and the shadows need to be super crisp. The goal is to fool people that it looks like it was made in Adobe Illustrator. I cannot figure out how to do this in Keyshot. I tried using Toon material but they dont cast shadows. Also I can get the shadows crisp at all using lights or backgrounds.
I welcome and help or feedback, thank you in advance. Tom

Doesn’t look bad at all I would say. You can maybe cheat a bit more and render it like 4x the size you want to use it and scale it down to 25% that will ‘sharpen’ things a bit.

The only thing I think is that you would expect the stringing of the racket to actually casted the shadows of the strings instead of a solid shadow. I’m not sure which lights you can use in the basic version but I would use a large spotlight with no falloff but with a wide cone and straight angle. That should give a pretty sharp image I think.

thank you Oscar, that was very helpful, not I have to figure out how to get opaque black shadows.

Does it work if you turn the HDRI brightness down to zero? That will give you black shadows.

I would say that toon material enables your goal (AFAIK)
